Communicable Disease Control (YTG)
Nurse practitioners provide free, confidential counselling/information
and/or testing for all infectious diseases (both vaccine and non-vaccine
preventable) and for sexually transmitted diseases. Other available
services include: referrals to other health care providers; resources and
information for all health care agencies and the general public; teaching
sessions available on request; needle exchange and needle disposal;
emergency contraception and pregnancy information, support and testing.
A free, confidential walk-in clinic is open on Mondays to Fridays from
12:30 to 4:00 pm. Call in the morning to book an appointment for this
clinic.

(Yukon) Home Care Program (YTG)
provides health services to Yukoners who cannot easily access
health care in the community and/or who require assistance with
personal care and home making. Services are based on an
individual's assessed needs, with the aim to improve their
quality of life and to support them living independently in
their homes. Acute care, long-term care and
palliative care services are provided.In Whitehorse services
are provided by Home Support Workers, Social Workers, Occupational
Therapists, Physiotherapists and Registered Nurses.
Watson Lake, Haines Junction, Carcross and Dawson City provide home
care nursing and home support services. The
remaining communities provide home support services.
Services are available to people of all ages. Self-referrals
are accepted.

Line of Life Association of the Yukon
(Life Line) offers a 24-hour helpline service for persons at risk,
